John Schulman
Co-founder of OpenAI; Chief Scientist, Thinking Machines Lab
John Schulman is an AI researcher and co-founder of OpenAI who has served as chief scientist at Thinking Machines Lab since February 2025. He co-led OpenAI's post-training team from 2022 to 2024 and briefly worked on Anthropic's Alignment Science team. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from UC Berkeley.
