Joe Lonsdale is the founder and managing partner at 8VC, an early-stage venture capital firm managing over $6 billion in capital. In 2003 he founded Palantir Technologies, the software company known for its work supporting US and allied defense and intelligence, and he has since founded more than a dozen companies including Addepar and OpenGov. He was an early investor in Anduril, Oculus, Guardant Health, Flexport and Joby Aviation. In 2018 he and his wife Tayler founded the nonpartisan Cicero Institute, and in 2021 he became founding chairman of the board of the University of Austin.
