David Pearce

Transhumanist philosopher; author of "The Hedonistic Imperative"

British philosopher who has argued since his 1995 online manifesto that technology should be used to abolish suffering entirely, in animals as well as people — the position known as abolitionism, or "paradise engineering." Co-founder of the organization now called Humanity+. His work is free to read on his own sites and is one of the clearest sources for a movement more often caricatured than quoted.
