Internship applications

Everything in the Internship Opportunities collection, laid out for applying rather than browsing: the direct link, the deadline when the host publishes one, and where to ask questions. Anything listed as having no published deadline is still worth opening — plenty of programs quietly close months before the start date, so trust each posting over this page.

    U.S. Department of Labor

    Apply

An April 2026 U.S. Department of Labor announcement of a national contracting opportunity to integrate artificial intelligence skills into Registered Apprenticeship programs. The Employment and Training Administration initiative seeks to expand AI-related training, modernize apprenticeship programs, and build AI literacy and technical skills across industries, aligning with the department's AI Literacy Framework and the Make America AI-Ready initiative.

Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: If you want to move into AI-adjacent work without a four-year degree, Registered Apprenticeships are one of the few earn-while-you-learn paths, and this initiative is the signal that AI skills are now part of that pipeline. Watch your state's apprenticeship sponsor list for AI-related openings.

  • Meta Rotational Programs (RPM and Rotational Network Engineering)

    Meta

    Apply

Meta's own page for its two rotational programs. The Rotational Product Manager (RPM) program is 18 months of short-term employment for early-career product managers: a four-week product bootcamp, then three rotations through different product teams, based in Menlo Park or New York City, with start dates of March 2027 and September 2027. Applications open once a year, typically late summer or early autumn, and need a resume plus a short questionnaire. A Rotational Network Engineering track is listed alongside it. At the end of the program you are evaluated and considered for a full-time role.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Free to apply, no fee, and it is a paid job rather than a course — which makes it one of the few genuine ways into product management without already having the title. Read the status line on the page rather than my summary: when I checked on 23 September 2026 it said applications open 23 September 2026, so the window may be open right now and it only comes once a year. Three honest points. It is short-term employment, not a permanent job: a full-time offer at the end is considered, not promised. It is in-person in Menlo Park or New York, so housing costs are yours. And this is Meta's own recruitment page — every description of the experience, including the quoted testimonial, was chosen by the employer.

  • Microsoft Datacenter Academy

    Microsoft

    Apply

Microsoft's community skilling programme that partners with local community colleges and vocational schools to train people for entry-level datacenter and digital-infrastructure jobs. The five parts are aligned curriculum, a hands-on datacenter lab, mentoring from Microsoft datacenter staff, work experience at a Microsoft datacenter, and scholarships or financial grants. It runs in cohorts through named partner schools rather than as an online course you sign up for.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: The honest version: this page is the program overview, not an application. The training is delivered by a local partner school, so start at the locations list and go to the school nearest you for dates, entry requirements and what the school itself charges — Microsoft's scholarships cover tuition, fees and certification exams only for students who qualify, so ask the school in writing what you would owe if you don't get one. Microsoft says more than 12,500 people have enrolled since 2018 across at least 14 countries; treat any jobs or salary figures the program quotes as its own marketing, not a promise of a Microsoft job.

  • Capital One Full-Time Programs for Students and Grads

    Capital One

    Apply

Capital One's full-time rotational programs for new graduates, covering technology, data, business analysis, product, design, audit and management tracks. Associates rotate across teams for a set period with structured mentorship, then settle into a role. The page lists each program and links to its current openings.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: These are paid graduate jobs, not training you buy, and applying costs nothing. Rotational programs suit you if you do not know which team you want; if you already do, a direct role gets you there faster. Openings are seasonal, so search the listings rather than trusting the overview page, and check each posting for the degree year and work-authorization requirements before you spend time on the application.

  • How AI Is Reshaping Entry-Level Tech Jobs (IEEE Spectrum)

    IEEE Spectrum

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Free to read on IEEE Spectrum. Practical if you are early-career: it describes what junior work is turning into rather than predicting job counts.

  • Huntr internship resume examples

    Huntr

    Apply

Free library of internship resume examples with section-by-section wording you can adapt when you have little formal work history.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Read two or three examples in your field, then rewrite your own bullets to name a task, a tool and a result. Copying the phrasing wholesale is what makes student resumes read alike.

  • Microsoft Research

    Microsoft Research

    Apply

Microsoft's research division: published papers, open datasets and tools, plus its internship and residency programs.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: The publications are free to read and the programs page lists real entry routes into research work. Both are more useful than the marketing pages.

    Apply

AWS's own page for students and recent graduates: internships, new-grad roles and the programs it runs to fill them.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Read the timelines carefully. Big-company early-career programs often close months before the start date, so a page that looks open all year usually is not.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open

  • NACE Career Readiness Resources

National Association of Colleges and Employers

    Apply

The National Association of Colleges and Employers' free library on career readiness — the eight competencies employers say they screen for, plus assessments and guides.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: This is where the "career readiness competencies" language in graduate job descriptions comes from — worth reading so you can mirror it back. Paywall note: the competency pages linked from here are free, but NACE's survey data, salary reports and full Job Outlook editions require paid membership — stick to the free material unless your school already has a membership.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Read the FAQ before the application form — it tells you what the interview actually tests, which is not what the form implies.

  • NASA Pathways Internships & Recent Graduate Program

    NASA

    Apply

NASA's official Pathways program: paid internships, recent-graduate placements and fellowships across every NASA centre, with conversion to permanent federal roles for students who complete the program.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Federal hiring runs on its own calendar — Pathways openings post on USAJOBS in short windows, so check this page monthly rather than once.

  • The Education Crisis

    Simply Put by Ed Elson

    Apply

Ed Elson's Simply Put essay on how AI, cost and weakening returns on a degree are reshaping education and the entry-level job market.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Useful context if you are deciding whether more school is the answer. It argues the credential is worth less than the proof of work.

  • Randstad USA — Job Search & Staffing

    Randstad

    Apply

Free job board and staffing service from one of the largest talent agencies in the US: search openings by role and location, upload a resume once, and get matched with recruiters for temporary, contract and permanent roles across administrative, light industrial, technology, finance and healthcare work.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Evaluation work is where a lot of AI hiring is heading — careful, skeptical people do well here even without a PhD.

  • Amplify Writing Fellowship

    Amplify Partners

    Apply

A fellowship from Amplify Partners for people who write well about technology, supporting a body of published work rather than a job.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Writing in public is still the cheapest career leverage there is — a fellowship that pays for it is rare, so take it seriously.

  • Perplexity Research Residency

    Perplexity

    Apply

A residency at Perplexity for people who want to do applied AI research on a working product rather than in a lab.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: A residency is the friendliest door into research — you are paid to learn on a real team instead of needing the credential first.

Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: The forward-deployed engineer role is one of the fastest-growing job titles in AI — this is a paid-attention way in before the market floods.

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Apply if you already have a company idea you keep coming back to — programs like this reward a specific problem over a polished resume.

  • DoorDash AI Research Fellowship (Summer & Fall 2026)

    DoorDash

    Apply

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself

Why I recommend it: Applied AI inside a logistics company teaches you constraints a lab never will — and the posting names its terms up front, which is a good sign.

  • Graduating in the AI Era Is Like a Large Recession for Starting Pay

    Apply

    Deadline
No published deadline — check the posting itself before assuming it's open
    Where to ask questions
Use the contact details on the application page itself
