Free account for temp, part-time, full-time and on-demand work. No interview or résumé needed. Its page says W-2 shifts pay in 1 to 2 days and that it serves all 50 states.
Why I recommend it: One of the broadest lists on the page, with no résumé needed, which is useful when you don't want to rebuild one. Read each posting to see whether it is a W-2 or contractor shift.
App for picking up on-demand shifts in hospitality, warehouse, cleaning, retail, grocery and events work. Free to join; workers are background-checked.
Why I recommend it: Good first stop if you need paid shifts fast. Instawork's homepage says 400+ cities but its FAQ says over 60, so check your city before you apply. It doesn't say whether you are W-2 or 1099 on the pages I read, so ask before you accept a shift.
Staffing app for short- and long-term work such as warehouse, food service, housekeeping, driving and events. Crew Members are W-2 employees, paid weekly, with On-Demand Pay to get earnings early. Signup includes an I-9 and a few training videos.
Why I recommend it: Your list had the crew-member portal; I used the main worker page instead. It doesn't name cities or mention worker fees, so check availability near you. W-2 means overtime and sick leave protections.
Healthcare shift marketplace for roles such as nursing and care work. Workers are independent contractors, and a license check and background verification are required.
Why I recommend it: Only useful if you hold a healthcare license or certification. It is the one healthcare option on the page. Contractor status means no taxes withheld.
Event staffing company for live events, sports and concerts.
Why I recommend it: From your list. I couldn't confirm pay, W-2 status, hiring locations or how to apply: its page I could read has only a company description. Check the site's careers or staff signup before you rely on it.
Retail shift work through an app. Workers are W-2 employees of WorkReflex, and signup includes an interview, background check and I-9.
Why I recommend it: W-2 status means taxes are withheld and you are covered by workers' comp. The signup has more steps than most apps, so allow a few days.
Staffing company for hotel, food service, catering, event, warehouse and manufacturing shifts. Workers are W-2 employees, and Upshift says it doesn't charge workers fees.
Why I recommend it: Signup takes an online application, an assessment and an in-person onboarding visit, so it is slower than app-only options. Its page says workers are paid both weekly and daily, so ask which. Limited to areas it serves; the pages I read showed Charlotte, Atlanta, Columbus and Cincinnati.
Light-industrial and warehouse shift work through an app. Workers must be U.S. work-eligible and background-checked.
Why I recommend it: Strongest for people who can lift and work on their feet. I couldn't find worker fees or W-2 vs 1099 status on the page, so ask Traba before your first shift. This link goes to the main site, not a worker-only page.
App for hospitality shifts such as bartending, serving, cooking and event staffing. No worker fees and same-day pay are stated on its page; signup includes an ID check, background check and skills assessment that takes 2 to 3 business days.
Why I recommend it: The link on your list went to Qwick's business login, so I pointed this to its Professionals page (linked from Qwick's own menu); I couldn't open that page, so check that it leads to the worker signup. Qwick says it covers 42 states, but the page lists 34 states plus DC. Check your area first.
App-only marketplace where you bid on short manufacturing, warehouse and logistics jobs (it calls them Ops). Pay arrives about 24 hours after the shift; a background check is required and you bring your own safety gear.
Why I recommend it: Workers are not employees, so you are responsible for your own taxes. Budget for boots, gloves and other protective gear. Best for people comfortable with physical work.
App for on-demand light-industrial, warehouse and event shifts. Nationwide; its worker pages say 98% of workers are paid within 48 hours with no hidden fees.
Why I recommend it: The pay speed is Wonolo's own claim. Its homepage doesn't repeat it, and I found no independent proof, so check recent worker reviews before you rely on fast pay.
