GPT-6.1 Terra
Made by OpenAI
OpenAI's October 26, 2026 model for visual reasoning, computer use and writing, with paid API and eligible paid-plan access.
What it is
OpenAI introduced GPT-6.1 Terra on October 26, 2026 as the successor to GPT-5.6 Terra. The company describes a model combining visual reasoning, computer use and natural writing, with examples including proposals, technical drawings, forms and video editing.
OpenAI says Terra is rolling out in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users and is available through the API as gpt-6.1-terra. The announcement does not establish free-plan access. API billing is separate from a ChatGPT subscription.
OpenAI's model documentation lists $1 per million input tokens, $0.05 per million cached input tokens and $5 per million output tokens. The launch's comparisons on Agents' Last Exam and MMMU-Pro, and its speed and cost comparisons, are OpenAI's own claims; no independent benchmark score is assigned here.
This page documents the release without changing the library's prompt runner. GPT-6.1 Terra cannot be run from this library, and the existing OpenAI endpoints remain unchanged.
Paid access only. Check automated actions and factual output; this library has no GPT-6.1 Terra endpoint enabled.
